Dear Friend, January 2005

Our goal is in sight. You can help us reach it now!

For the past twenty-five years the C. G. Jung Institute - Boston has been renting space in downtown Boston to house its Training Program and the Public Programs of the New England Society of Jungian Analysts (NESJA). Because of increasing rental costs requiring us to move several times in the previous ten years, in 2000 we undertook a five-year Fund-Raising effort with the intention of purchasing space in the greater Boston area for our activities so we will no longer be dependent on the vicissitudes of the rental market.

Our current lease runs out in October 2005 so we are hoping to find a space to purchase and to move into by August or September 2005.

As of January 2005 our Building Fund has raised a little over $200,000 thanks to generous gifts from friends in response to our annual appeal, and from substantial pledges from the analyst members of NESJA. We are now hoping to raise $100,000 more for a total of $300,000 by the first of April 2005. This sum plus the $200,000 mortgage that we can well afford will provide us with the $500,000 we need to purchase about 1600 square feet of non-profit office space within greater Boston for our programs.

We are now asking you to make a donation to the continuation of our programs dedicated to the thought and practice of C. G. Jung. As we live in a rapidly changing world of shifting values, we may want to reflect on our personal commitments and priorities in giving. As all of us in the Jungian community continue to search for a more meaningful individual and collective vision, we hope that you will take this opportunity to affirm your support of our efforts by responding to our appeal for funds with a generous tax-deductible donation. Please see the attached pledge card for details on how to make your gift.

Remember Jung's observation that as individuals we carry the world in microcosm and that “individuation does not shut one out from the world, but gather the world to itself.” We will be very grateful to receive your gift which will help us reach our goal this year.

Sincerely,

Cornelia Dimmitt
