Bees, with Russell Holmes, M.A.

Event Details

With recently published details of the “colony collapse disorder,” we’ve become more aware of the existence and function of the honey bee, and forced to a renewed interest in what most of us ignore or take for granted: that we are dependent on the pollinating activity of bees for one third of our food supply. From the beginning of time (100 million years?) bees have been significant providers of honey, wax and symbolism in all cultures, mythologies, and religions. We will discuss these sources and some unconscious material.
