Psyche: From the Painted Caves to Visiting Mars, with John Haule, Ph.D., IAAP
Jung understood our contemporary psyche against the background of history. The soul of Homo sapiens has been evolving for more than 40,000 years, and we can follow the evidence today in much greater detail than Jung could in the first half of the twentieth century. The myth we need-the story we tell ourselves about who we are—will not be compelling unless it accurately portrays our history and the uniqueness of our present situation.
